Make it Perfect
I, Cheyne Sexsmith, was born in Huntington Beach, CA. My father, Cory, is responsible for exposing me to wood finishing from a very young age. Summers were spent on the bay in Newport Beach helping sand and varnish the handrails on the dock along with the massive flag pole, among other things. Each year the decking required non-skid applied and the dock boxes were constantly being painted. In this environment, perfection was the only standard.
From that experience, I moved on through high-school and into my early twenties where I got my first real job. I’ve had many jobs, but nothing like that which I had experienced helping my dad.
In 2004 I entered the trades. I only worked on ultra-high-end homes and we only used the very best materials.
“Why don’t you call her yourself?”
Cheyne and Jessica met in 6th grade, September 1996. They went through middle school and on to high school together. After their sophomore year together, Cheyne went on to another school and the two fell out of touch.
Some 12 years later and over 1,000 miles apart, Cheyne reached out to a mutual friend, Sandra. He Inquired about how Jessica had been all these years. What did Sandra say? “Why don’t you ask her yourself?” He was given her work email and knew what he had to do with it. The excitement of reconnecting with someone you thought to be gone forever!
He sent one email. It turned into 50. He made one phone call. It turned into hundreds. Practically unable to put the phone down, the two planned the first trip. They finally met again for the first time in 12 years on October 5, 2012.
Two years later on October 9, 2014 their first child was born. Now married, they have three lovely children, a dog named Bo-Bo, Phillip the goldfish, and two siamese cats. Now that’s what I call a full-house!
